Remember when you heard ‘Christmas in Hollis’ by RUN DMC for the first time? Christmas music didn’t have to be attributed to shopping mall soundtracks and Bing Crosby. The Eggnog Experience is a double album compilation featuring 30 of Vancouver’s best indie bands writing their own and interpreting traditional holiday songs. Many of the bands are interviewed on the Mental Beast radio show and, additionally, their compilation tracks serve as the soundtrack to the web-series. The compilation was curated by Cameron Reed, co-director of Vancouver’s premier independent cultural festival, Music Waste.
